Concrete Mudjacking

Concrete mudjacking is an alternative to replacing sunken or uneven concrete, restoring sunken concrete slabs to their original grade. It is the process of raising or stabilizing faulty concrete pavement and is performed on cracked and sunken concrete slabs such as driveways, steps and sidewalks, concrete pavement floors and other slabs on grade surfaces. We specialize in driveways, sidewalks, steps, porches, patios, garage floors, warehouse floors, pillars, foundations, machine pads, retaining walls, and more.

Why Do Slabs Settle and Shift?

  • Normal freezing and thawing cycles that are present in Central Illinois.
  • Another reason that slabs shift is the new construction of a house. When the soil is disturbed it is a natural process for slabs around the newly constructed house to settle until it is compacted to its previous state. Many contractors do their best to compact sub-grade under new slabs but it is still common for settling to occur.
  • Drainage issues can also cause slabs shifting or settling. It is important to keep the soil graded so that it is sloping away from the house. Downspout extensions need to be placed so that the water is running away from the foundation and slabs so the water doesn’t erode the fill under them.

What Do We Inject Under Your Slab?

Our material is mixed at each job site to adjust for each situation encountered. Our formulation has enough flexibility to fill voids and pockets. This will result in more material filling the void under the slab, providing a more thorough solution. The main substance in our mudjacking material is crushed limestone which offers a solid solution for filling voids and lifting the slab. Some of our competitors mix their material too stiff which can result in a pillaring effect with material established as pillars and leaving voids throughout the affected area. With time these “pillars” collapse and the need for subsequent repair arises. Although we have very few calls for adjustment each year, we offer a full two-year adjustment period, free of charge to our customers
